We Play Sports For Life was founded in 2016 by Bob Acton—a man full of energy, vision, and a million ideas.
Even after being diagnosed with ALS, Bob remained a force of creativity and purpose, never losing his drive to make a lasting impact. It was during this time, in the face of adversity, that WePlay Sports For Life was born—a reflection of his unwavering spiritand commitment to making a difference.
Our annual golf tournament holds deep meaning for us — it was the very first We Play Sports For Life initiative. Just three weeks before his passing, Bob proudly attended that inaugural event.
Today, We Play Sports For Life is led by Bob’s son, Reid Acton, who shares his father’s vision of ensuring equitable access to sport for all children. Under Reid’s leadership, WPSFL continues to grow, carrying forward a legacy built on love, determination, and the belief that equal access, has a lasting impact.
